Welcome to Pangaea Outdoor Supply. My name is Corrina. I started thinking about opening a gear shop in 2012 when I was building a backpacking kit for a thruhike of the John Muir Trail. I am now delighted to share gear and ideas for adventures great and small with you on this website.
Pangaea is a place for gear and apparel with an eye on utility and aesthetics alike. The shop offers a concise selection of technical kit and other functional items with a core focus on backpacking and camping, but many of the items you find here will have applications across activities like bikepacking, birding, climbing, fly fishing, overlanding, and just kicking around at home.
Pangaea welcomes lifelong outdoorsfolk, enthusiastic weekenders, and aspiring mountaineers, and my goal is to stock items that you might want to use at home as much as you need to use them on your adventures. I intend to offer you things you can use and love now and for a good while so that you can buy fewer, better things in the long term.
Inspired by the ultralight backpacking philosophies of outdoorsfolk like Ray Jardine, the environmentalist politics of Stewart Brand and The Whole Earth Catalog, and the aesthetic ideologies of artists like Donald Judd, Agnes Martin, Yvonne Rainer, and Robert Smithson, Pangaea is a place for ideas and community as much as it is a gear shop.
